Hi Trish,Tim and others. The first co-ordinated effort with the ship is
planned
for Monday (CLEARCOLUMN, if not too cloudy). We might also do a Clear
LAGRANGIAN.
After that we will probably send you on the good old racetrack on a
point connected with Tenerife. And then we hope for a 2nd continental
outbreak. Although the weather is really not collaborating  good data
are being gathered by all teams. We stay optimistic, so optimistic that
we declared tomorrow a holiday. There will therefore be no ST meeting

DAY N+1 Upper levels: Trough E of Azores moving E. Winds
from SW, increasing northward, with jet over Sagres, about 90 Kt. Low
levels: Anticyclone 1028 hPa, W of Azores, moving E and extending to the
Portuguese coast. Thermal low over N Africa and another one over Iberian
Peninsula. Winds from N about 15 kt on average. MBL will rise and cloud
thickness will increase. Possible rain. 
DAY N+2 Upper levels: Trough
crossing ACE2 area and entering Iberian Peninsula with SW winds, about
100 kt over Sagres at noon, becoming W and NW and weakening over the
whole ACE2 area. Low levels: Anticyclone 1028 hPa on Azores, extending
E to Portuguese coast. Thermal low over N Africa connected with a
secondary one over Iberian Peninsula. Winds from NW to N about 15 Kt.
possible rain N of Canaries.
DAYS N+3 & N+4: Both days. Upper levels: Trough over Iberian Peninsula,
moving E. Ridge over Azores moving eastward and bringing westerly flow 
over ACE2 area. Low levels: Anticyclone 1032 hPa over Azores stationary,
extending over Iberian Peninsula. Winds from NE 15kt on average,
increasing up to 22 kt on N+4. Possible rain N of Canaries.
