They don't seem to be there. Frank. ST meeting 0710 Thursday Meteo outlook DAY N+1, N+2 : Both days: Upper levels: low NW of British Isles; trough W of Iberian peninsula moving E. NW and W winds over the whole area. Low levels: High of 1028 mb over Azores, stationary; low NW British Isles, with associated cold front moving SE; Thermal low over Sahara. NW winds northern part ACE2 area and NE southern, around 16 kts on average. Clean maritime air is advected over the whole area. The MBL-top and the cloud thickness will increase. DAY N+3, N+4 : Both days: Upper levels: Trough line crossing northern part ACE2 area and Iberian peninsula, moving E; Ridge line N Atlantic. NW and W winds. Low levels: High over Azores immobile and reinforcing, low N of Iberian peninsula moving NE, with associated cold front crossing northern ACE2 area; Thermal low over Sahara. NW winds northern ACE2 area and NE southward, 12 kts on average the N+3 day and increasing to 17 kts N+4. The MBL-top and the cloud-thickness will continue to increase. First priority is CLEARCOLUMN over Sagres with C130, in European pollution. GONOGO at 0800Z ST meeting. Back-up missions for C130: CLEARCOLUMN over ship near 33N00' 10W00' or CLOUDYCOLUMN near Porto Santo. Both Sagres and ship to send AOD and aerosol levels by 0730Z. 4. CLOUDYCOLUMN near Porto Santo with Merlin Dornier ARAT (+ possibly C130) 5. Pelican on the ground. Saturday 6. Possibility for (Clear) LAGRANGIAN with C130, ARAT and balloon release from Sagres without the ship has been discussed. Last day of ARAT availability.
