For the R/V Ron Brown the winds will return to (or remain in) the SE, and
strengthen during the day on Thursday as the low pressure ESE of Japan
moves toward the NE and intensifies. After Thursday night the winds will shift
to W and intensify further, exceeding 12 ms-1 by Friday morning. The
seas will remain pleasant during this time, but after Friday morning will be
following. After Friday PM the seas will increase in NW gales, and will
briefly be > 12' on Saturday. While in the vicinity of Hachijo Jima the winds
will be changing with the growth and motion of the low pressure center.
If the system moves rapidly the winds will shift from the SW to the NW during
the day on Saturday and begin to moderate by Sunday morning.
Clouds will increase during the day on Saturday and will not clear until Sunday
morning according to the present forecast.
