Hi Trish. We planned a CLEARCOLUMN over the ship tomorrow Thu. Phil and
Randy will send you operational data.  After this (tomorrow evening) ST
would like you to be ready on Saturday morning (0500Z) for a Clear
LAGRANGIAN S.E. of Sagres, or a CLEARCOLUMN. Please comment on these
plans and timings. ACE-2 area is expected to be clean on Friday/Sat/Sun
except for Sagres which still experiences European pollution hugging the
coastal areas. Frank

Meteo outlook

DAY N+1, N+2 : 
Both days: Cold low to the west of British Isles, stagnant. Trough over
northern Atlantic moving eastward.
Possibility of some dust Thursday around Canaries. NW winds. low levels:
low to the west of British Isles, with cold front moving southeastward.
N winds in northern ACE2 area and NE winds southward, around Canaries.
Clean and colder air is advected over the area. The MBL-top and the
cloud thickness will increase. Scattered to broken cloudiness northern
part ACE2 area and broken to overcast southwestward
DAY N+3, N+4 : 
Both days: Deep trough to the west of Iberian peninsula moving
southeastward. W and SW winds over the whole area. Low levels: Relative
low to the northwest of Portugal. High of 1028 over Azores. Cold front
crossing the north part ACE2 area, NW winds northward, 8 kt on average
and N winds southwards 15 kt on average. Clean maritime air is advected
over the area. The MBL-top and the cloud thickness will continue
increasing. Some rain is expected northern Canaries.

Pelican, in moderately polluted air.
2. Successful HILLCLOUD in polluted air
3. No CLEARCOLUMN over ship because of cloudiness. ARAT ship 
overflight.

Thursday
4. CLEARCOLUMN with Pelican over ship at 29N30 13W00'. Thereafter ship
to move to Sagres along African coast. 
5. Citation stack flight in dust layer

Friday
6. Possibility for CLEARCOLUMN over ship or over Sagres with C130, in
European pollution near African coast
7. Pelican on the ground

Saturday
8. Possibility for CLEARCOLUMN or Clear LAGRANGIAN with C130 near Sagres
in European pollution. Last day of ARAT availability
